So to finish off our year of fun, Michelle accepted a position at a firm in Boise this afternoon, the great thing about this is that they are going to pay %100 of the moving costs, including doing all the packing. So the 24th our home will be overrun with packers will who move everything we own, kind of nice when we don't have to do it.

We are right now on the hunt for a new residence in the Boise area, of course the shop will have to go down again BUT (and this is the big one for us) we can afford something out there without having to auction off one of the kids, I'm going to attempt to keep my position with Macromedia (my boss is cool with this, not sure if Adobe will be yet).

So I have to get all my orders in and then pack it all up and get moving , it's scary and exciting all at the same time, but it's a good strategic move for us and this will pay off in the long run. I'm hoping this will cap off the year of change for us, we are really hoping to settle in after this.

Well, they say a change is as good as a rest but I don't think they meant this often! I sure hope you guys get a chance to find your "dream place" and have the opportunity to settle and stay and stabilize. The very best of luck to you and your family.

Paul, if your excited...we are excited . Just think, nice country, less population, great place to raise kids, lower cost of living. Sounds like a win-win opportunity to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Adobe will get onboard but if not, and knowing your work experience, you will have no trouble finding something...maybe even being a stay at home dad and building guitars Good luck house/shop hunting.

Great news Davis. I bet Michelle's new company didn't realise that her husband had a woodshop/small guitar factory when they offered to move you. Hee, hee, jokes on them. I think you'll like it there a lot. Except for the fact that they don't have the Terminator for a govenor, it's a pretty cool place. Best wishes. Woolson

Congrats to you and your family Paul and good luck in Boise. The only thing I remember about Boise is that my family and I were stuck there on vacation once when our car broke down. I think I may have been about 8 years old or so at the time hanging out at the Ford dealer while they fixed it.

I think Paul nailed it, we had a very animated conversation last night about the shop being moved, apparently this moving company does not want us to pack ANYTHING at all, in fact if we have things in boxes they want us to *unpack* them. It's the only way they will insure what they move.

Well you can imagine with a couple of expensive hand planes, a collection of good chisels collected over the years and a stack of expensive tonewood I'm really concerned. So I guess they are going to send out someone to give everything a look over before they show up and I'll impress on them then the importance of packing the shop correctly, if I'm not comfortable then I'll move the shop myself (letting them move the machines and I'll take the delicate stuff), the trick will be where to store it while we look for a place. Need to work that one out...

We are super excited about this, we started shopping for home loans yesterday to get pre-approved (always a fun process, kind of like getting your teeth drilled) and are looking for something with a garage AND a finished shop (preferrably with lots of outlets!

The kids and Michelle have been to Boise but strangely I have not, I've traveled all over the states and it's one of the few places I've not been too. But after doing lots of research I know it's the right move....

I'm thinking of putting up a blog on my site to keep everyone who's interested up to date...
